DocsBarcelona 2014 Awards

 

Return to Homs, by Derk Talal , has won the Award DocsBarcelona - TV3 Best Picture of the seventeenth edition of DocsBarcelona , endowed with 5,000 € and a statuette . The jury composed of Nuria Vidal , Jordi Ambrós , Ricardo and Dani Vilaró Iscar has granted the award unanimously " by the courage and commitment of showing a forgotten, with different images of the conflict that usually come to us through the media " . The film reflects the life of two Syrian friends, since peaceful protests to overthrow President Bashar Al Assad to the decisions they make when repression of the army arrives .
The jury also wanted to give a Special Mention to the Polish film Joanna , by Aneta Kopacz , "because it is a breathtaking and beautiful story , explained naturally with a poetic approach to pain."
As for Noves Mirades Award with a statuette and chosen among the films in this section , has been unanimously awarded by the jury to the film Belleville Baby, by swedish director Mia Engberg , " the formal daring that tells a story multilayer love . "
Viewers teenagers were in charge of deciding which was the best projected in the Docs & Teens movies section , and have been awarded the Prize for Entre el cel i la terra ,by Tono Folguera , Fernández de Castro and David Román Parrado . As for Doc Award - U, also chosen by the audience to the section on college documentary , the winner has been Huellas de Ausencia by Ana Monrás ( ESCAC ) .
The Pro -Docs Television Award for Best Documentary Catalan 2013 , granted all the documentaries broadcast on television during 2013 and that the grant partners Pro -Docs by vote, has been for the tape will die Demà , Justin Webster .
Finally , the award for Best InterDocsBarcelona Popathon Prototype , consisting of an annual Klynt Pro License for each member of the winning team courtesy of Klynt , has been granted StereotypeCelona by Juan Lesta , Laia Ros, Maria Llobet and Hermes Carter.
