Mikael Opstrup

Graduated with a degree in Film from The University of Copenhagen.

Mikael Opstrup worked with distribution and theatrical release of documentaries during most of the 80’s. He was a freelance Producer and Production manager up through the 90’s. He organized the film festival “Films from the South” from 1995 to 1998, and worked as Production Adviser at The Danish Film Institute from 1998 to 2002.

Since 2000 he has worked as tutor / moderator at a large number over workshops and forums around Europe, in The Middle East and South America. From 2002 to 2008 he has been co-owner and producer at Final Cut Productions in Copenhagen where he has produced a number of international documentaries. In 2009 he has been Film strategic adviser on documentaries of The Middle East. Also from 2009 he serves as Production Tutor at Ex Oriente Film Workshop.

Board member of EDN – European Documentary Network – from 2005 to 2009, and Chairman from 2008-09. He is currently Head of Studies of EDN.

 

Paul Pauwels

Paul Pauwels got a degree as director and producer at RITCS film school in Brussels.

He worked as production manager and unit manager in feature film production until 1987, when he founded his own production company: Periscope Productions. The company produced commercials, short feature films and internationally financed documentaries. The company was sold in 2005, when Paul Pauwels was invited to become programme manager at VRT, the Flemish public broadcaster. There he was in charge of the Science and History department and was the liaison officer with the independent documentary community. He left this position in 2007 to become the project manager for the European Television and Media Management Academy in Strasbourg, France. He was nominated the director of this international training institute, a position he occupied until 2011.

Paul Pauwels teaches Documentary Production at the MAD academy in Belgium and works as an expert, moderator and tutor for other training organizations. He advises producers and directors of factual programmes, sometimes accepting the position of executive producer.

Paul Pauwels has been chairperson of EDN - European Documentary Network- and he is a member of the General Assembly of the new Flemish Film Fund (VAF). He is also an expert reader for the same funding body.

 

ROUGH CUT & LATIN FORUM MODERATOR

Tue Steen Müller

Born in Denmark in 1947, Tue worked for more than 20 years at the Danish Film Board and directed the European Documentary Network from its foundation in 1996 to 2005.

Member of the jury in various festivals and writer of articles for national and international media, he has given documentary seminars in more than 40 countries.

His contribution to the promotion of documentaries has led him to obtain numerous awards, including (in 2004) the Danish Roos Prize for his contribution to the Danish and European documentary culture in 2004, and the EDN Life Achievement Award 2005.

Since 2006 he works as a freelance consultant, teacher and film blogger.
