Roc Albalat
is a graphic artist and audiovisual producer, founding member of Estampa Workshop and the association L'Automàtica. He works on projects of interactive video, experimental animation, editorial design and letterpress printing. He has worked with institutions such as CCCB, Post Grade of Creative Documentary at the UAB, CaixaFòrum , FEC or Animac Festival.

Pau Artigas
is an Engineer in Computer Science School of Informatics at UPC Barcelona. His interests are computer graphics and new forms of interaction and display content on the web. In the field of visual arts he has worked on the webs, or

Marcel Pié
is an animation director, designer and professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona. Founder of Estampa and member of the association of L'Automàtica. His interest is focused on the field of the experimental animation and his works have been screened at festivals and museums such as MACBA, Laboral, CCCB, CaixaFòrum, L'Alternativa or Animac Festival.

Àlex Badia - BARRET FILMS (Spain)
Barret Founder - Director of Interactive Contents

Barret Films is a production company specialized in interactive documentary content which tries to make the most of the possibilities offered by new technologies in order to explore new narrative paths and establish new relationships with the audience. Since 2008 it has produced several transmedia documentaries such as  Les veus de la memòria, the first webdoc distributed by RTVE. They are currently working on 0responsables, a transmedia project that started with the webdoc, and which is now at the production stage of a feature documentary.
Àlex Badia is the founder of Barret, where he’s head of interactive content. With  Les veus de la memòria, he took the interactivity of this distinctly musical project to the design of music therapy video games, where the user, more than seeing the scenes, plays them. With 0responsables, a transmedia project about the metro accident in Valencia in 2006, he included crowdsourcing elements to filter documents, a citizen participation tool at the “virtual square”, interactive interviews, and the inclusion of the petition by the Metro Victims Association.

Tània Balló / Serrana Torres - INTROPÍA MEDIA (Spain)

Inspired by the new lines of production and creation, Tània Balló  and Serrana Torres created Intropía Media, with the aim of working in the development, creation and production of innovative projects. With a clear philosophy; working at the same time as they investigate and delve into the new production and content formulas.
Intropía Media feeds off their professional careers with years of experience in the fields of audiovisual production, communication and online strategies.
At the moment they are working on Oleg, a feature film documentary directed by Andrés Duque and on Las Sinsombrero, a transmedia project (TV documentary, webdoc, storytelling, wikiproject, exhibition, educational project).

With the theoretical and practical implementation of this new form of cinema spread throughout the net, which is web documentary (interactive),where documentaries undergo a new and dramatic transformation, the UAB’s Master in Creative Documentary places itself at the forefront of non-fiction cinema training both nationally and internationally.

Mads Damsbo - MAKROPOL (Denmark)

Mads Damsbo has with his company Makropol taken the lead amongst his generation in developing transmedia experiences. Projects like World Online Orchestra, an ambitious browser based interactive symphony, that allows users to upload videos of themselves playing a classical symphony, that is then stitched together as a gigantic user-generated world orchestra.

Valerie Delpierre - INICIA FILMS (Spain)

Created in 2006, Inicia Films is a Spanish production company located in Barcelona which pays special attention to international co-productions and developing new talent.
Inicia Films produces documentaries, shorts and feature films. In the last few months it has been researching new formats and exploitation channels in order to make the most of these opportunities for its projects.

Eva Domínguez (España)

Eva Domínguez ( is a multimedia journalist, a lecturer and a researcher. She holds a BA degree in Journalism from the UAB, a Master in Interactive Telecommunications from the New York University and a PHD from the Universitat Ramon Llull. She’s been an editor at Diari de Barcelona and El Periódico de Catalunya, head editor of multimedia at La Vanguardia Digital, and digital project coordinator at Planeta de Agostini Online and GEC. She’s been awarded grants from the Fullbright Foundation and La Caixa. She currently combines her academic activities with her activities as a consultant and creator of digital projects.

Simon Duflo / Victor Serna – HONKYTONK FILMS (France)

Honkytonk Films is a Paris-based production studio considered as one of the pioneers in the field of interactive documentaries.
With a focus on today’s current affairs, social & environmental issues, Honkytonk has been working internationally with journalists, photographers, designers and creative coders to explore new narrative forms and technologies.
Since 2009, Honkytonk is also known for editing Klynt, the first open source application dedicated to web-native storyteller.

Alvaro Liuzzi (Argentina)

Journalist (33). Consultant and researcher on digital media. Specialized in digital communication. Since 2006 he’s been developing experimental journalistic projects mixing interactive documentary, transmedia narratives and real time in order to research the history of Argentina.
He works at the Journalism and Social Communication college and at the IT college of the Universidad Nacional de la Plata in Argentina, he’s a guest lecturer at the Master in Journalism and Digital Communication from the Sabana University in Colombia and takes part as a freelance in digital training projects at the Deutsche Welle Akademie in Germany.
He has given conferences and offered training to different media, companies and public organizations linking digital strategies of institutional communication with new technologies. He writes on his blog Segon Pla about new narratives, innovation, journalism and education, amongst other topics. Since 2007 he has taken part as a speaker at congresses on Digital Communication in various countries.

Sebastián Melo - CHAKA STUDIO (United Kingdom)
Executive Producer

Chaka Studio is a documentary and new media lab with headquarters in London. It works with film directors, artists and programmers exploring the intersections between code and film. Chaka Studio is made up of directors Maria Court and Rosemarie Lerner and executive producer Sebastián Melo. They recently received funding from  REACT Future of Documentary and they were awarded with Hot-Docs Cross Currents fund.

Cahuenga Filmmakers entirely produced Desig/Wish (2009) directed by Maria Ripoll for the CCCB Frankfurt Bookfair (Frankfurt, 2008) and Chromosome 5 (2013) directed by Maria Ripoll and Lisa Pram, selected at the official section of the Malaga Film Festival and awarded with the Grandprix for best Film at BIOFEST (Serbia).
Cahuenga is devoling 2 projects: Agua en la boca/ Water in the Mouth, a fiction series for television and Plagio a docu/fiction feature film.

Mandy Rose - I-DOCS (United Kingdom)
Associate Professor and Director of the University of the West of England’s Digital Cultures Research Centre

Mandy Rose is Associate Professor and Director of the University of the West of England’s Digital Cultures Research Centre. Her practice based research looks at the intersection between documentary and networked culture. Mandy is a Contributing Editor to i-Docs and co-convenor of the 2014 i-Docs Symposium. Mandy’s recent writing appears in The Journal of Documentary Studies (Intellect Books 1013), The Documentary Film Book (Palgrave 2013) and DIY Citizenship; Critical Making and Social Media (MIT Press 2014.) Ricardo Villa - RTVE (Spain)
Director of Interactive Media

Ricardo Villa Asensi, a journalist, is the director of interactive media at TVE and responsible for all multiscreen strategy and RTVE websites. He has done a Master's degree in journalism at El País School. He began his career as a parliamentary reporter in Cinco Días, and after spending some time in the Middle East working for different media companies, he has been responsible for the direction and release of companies such as, and from 2007 until the present, He is the Lab creator and the promoter of the TVE webdocs strategy. He teaches at the TVE Master of production . Some awards he received in the area include the multiscreen Rose d'Or in Lucerna for the Project Águila Roja or the Iris Award from the TV Academy for the best multiscreen production coverage of the 2012 Olympic Games.


Remco Vlaanderen - SUBMARINE CHANNEL (The Netherlands)

Submarine Channel is an international distribution and production platform for fresh content that explores new technologies to tell stories in visually exciting, multiple format-friendly ways – including motion comics, online games, web documentaries and transmedia productions such as (2010), which was nominated for a Digital Emmy Award. Arnau Gifreu - OPEN DOCUMENTARY LAB (MIT) / I-DOCS (Spain)

Arnau Gifreu Castells is a lecturer, researcher and director in the audiovisual and multimedia fields. He has a PhD in Communications and a Master’s Degree in Digital Arts from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF, Barcelona) with a thesis on the interactive documentary. He is a research affiliate at the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Open Documentary Lab and a member of the i-docs organization (University of the West of England). He is a lecturer at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and the Universitat de Vic (UVIC) where he also directs Final Grade Projects and a digital content lab (Uvic_lab). He has been a research lecturer at Harvard University (Harvard Metalab) and at the University of York (Future Cinema Lab, Canada).
